My Forest collection spans the earliest days of football card publishing with the Marcus & Co Footballers & Club Colours collection, which dates from circa 1896, to the latest issues in the 21st Century.
Although now numbering in excess of 1,900 items I'm still on the look
out for many Forest cards and stickers. If you think you have something I
might be interested and are looking to either sell or trade in do get in touch - details on the contact page.
I grew up in Nottingham and saw my first reds game in the late 1970s. As was the right of passage for so many I was taken to my first game by my dad, which if I remember rightly was a victory against Coventry City, sitting on a crush barrier in the Bridgford End. I was a season ticket holder at the City Ground, and later an away regular, until the end of the old First Division. Since then I've lived away from the city, and only get to see Forest occasionally.
My sticker collecting started thanks to my mum, who one winter's day greeted my return from school with a shiny red Panini Football 78 album and some packets of stickers. To this day I still get ribbed for my then inability to correctly pronounce Norwich City and Liam Brady! The final two Forest players I needed were Peter Shilton and Kenny Burns, and I bagged the latter thanks to my grandad (a Notts County supporter) buying me a couple of packets one Saturday morning. A somewhat over-excited six-year-old was then duped by his grandfather, who told him he'd specifically asked the newsagent for Burns. In my naivety I chastised him for not having asked for Shilton too! I hope I've grown up a bit since.
