Barratt & Co Cricketers, Footballers & Teams Harold Wadsworth

Barratt & Co Cricketers, Footballers & Teams unnumbered card H. Wadsworth. This series is listed in catalogues as being published in 1926, which may be correct up to a point but some of the player to club variations are certainly no earlier than 1927.
The card appears in two versions, Leicester City and Notts Forest with the latter being much rarer. Wadsworth spent most of the 1926/27 season at Leicester City before moving to Forest in April 1927. He made his debut in a friendly at Northampton Town a month later, and only spent a year in Nottingham. Wadsworth played his final game for the club against West Bromwich Albion on 14 April 1928 before joining Millwall.

Clevedon Confectionery Famous Footballers card #3 Jack Burkitt. These cards are widely listed as being published in 1961, but the biography on Burkitt suggests otherwise. Forest Cards Cup and Trophies Vorwaerts Frankfurt/Oder

Forest Cards Series 2 Cups and Trophies card #20. Rather unusual both in its content and in that the card is untitled, it depicts a vase presented to the club by the East Germans.
I have to confess I know pretty much nothing about this card, and I haven't seen any others from this collection. If anyone knows anything about this set or series 1 please get in touch.
The UEFA Cup first round second leg in East Germany was played on 28 September 1983, Forest winning 1-0 thanks to an Ian Bowyer goal in front of a crowd of 18,000. Forest's then opponents now ply their trade in the Oberliga Nordost, Germany's fifth tier, under the name 1.FC Frankfurt.
Update 19/01/16: Trevor Gillies has been in touch to say the cards were issued by the club in conjunction with Repro House and Apollo Soft Drinks (part of Home Brewery, Daybrook) and given to season ticket holders in 1984. In all there are three series of 20 cards.

Godfrey Phillips 'Pinnace' Footballers Sidney Gibson

Godfrey Phillips 'Pinnace' Footballers card #1705 S. Gibson, published in 1923.
The Pinnace series is massive collection of 2,462 different cards (including some rugby players) - and that doesn't take account duplicate cards of players appearing for different clubs or minor variations of the same card. If that isn't enough there are three different sizes too. The smallest are common enough to find, but the medium and postcard sized versions take some finding. The 'Pinnace' set was so large it was published over four years from 1920 to 1924.
