Rover Famous Footballers George Grimshaw
Rover comic Famous Footballers unnumbered paper issue George Grimshaw, published by DC Thomson. Over two years the comic's front page included pictures of footballers, which were to be cut out and stuck onto card. Grimshaw appeared on the front of issue number 2287 on 26 April 1969.
Quite why he was included in the series is a bit of a mystery. Left back Grimshaw was signed from Forfar Athletic on 25 January 1969 having made 25 appearances for The Loons, but never played a first team game while at the City Ground. He returned to Scotland on 15 August 1970, joining Dunfermline Athletic.
